Night Fall

Feel me through my fingers--
let your touch
light the way
by the glow of the candle
in my room.
Trace lazy musings
along my quivering jaw
with nothing but night
to give way
to the gasps
in my head--
nothing but night
to echo the silence instead.
See me through my eyes--
let your stare
pave the way
for the scrunching of sheets
in my room.
Burning quiet embers
along my parted thoughts
with nothing but night
to give way
to the burstings inside--
nothing but night
to blanket what I cannot hide.
Own me through my lips--
let your breath
fill the way
in the lick of the fan
in my room.
Suck unspoken dreams
along hot swell of my heart
with nothing but night
to give way
to the contented smiles--
nothing but night
to fear for awhile….
